The Country Liberal Party announces their gamba policy

Your efforts demanding political action on gamba grass are working!

On Saturday, the Country Liberal Party announced their policy for dealing with gamba grass ahead of this year’s Northern Territory election. It included a strong commitment to tackling the gamba infestation on Crown land – something that many of you have been demanding for a long time.

Now, as the election approaches and the fires heat up across the Top End we need to see concrete funding commitments from all sides of politics. It’s only with the funding to back it up that plans like these will be able to deliver these important goals to protect our communities and respond to the gamba crisis.

Will you write to all political parties in the Territory to ask for their gamba plans?

Community frustration about insufficient action on crown land is something we hear regularly – and we know that this particular issue is a massive risk to the overall gamba response. But we also need to see the proper funding allocated to tackle the problem.

We’ll all see politicians on the pavements, at the markets or at various events over the coming weeks, and it’s on all of us to demand the detail of their plan to deal with gamba.

Write to them today and get them to commit to tackling the gamba crisis properly.

Thanks for everything that you do.
