We all feel pretty strongly about protecting our Top End way of life. We share a love for the great outdoors and a strong connection to the amazing natural landscape we’re lucky enough to call home.

But, our lifestyle and landscape are increasingly threatened by the spread of gamba grass.

You can help raise the profile of this dangerous threat, by writing a letter to the NT News.

Use our handy form below to submit a letter to the NT News, and help us to highlight the ongoing threat caused by gamba grass.

Some tips on writing your letter:

  • Why are you writing a letter about gamba grass? How does it affect you personally?
“I’m concerned about the spread of gamba across the Top End – it’s causing so much damage to property, and putting lives at risk with increased bushfire intensity.”
  • Has something happened recently that caused you to want to write a letter?
“Having witnessed the recent bushfires in my neighborhood, I’m concerned for the safety of firefighters, landholders and residents.”
  • What do you want to see happen?
“It’s time that the NT Government took responsibility for this crisis, and properly fund efforts to eradicate gamba grass once and for all.”
  • Short and sweet is best. No more than 300 words in total.

  • Remember, your letter is more likely to be published if it is short, sharp and to the point.
  • The NT News requires all Letters to the Editor submissions to include your contact details – email, phone and home address.
  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
